I finally had the chance to watch both the con panel and Paley again and both were just as wonderful and funny as I recall. It's strange for me to think that at the start of August, I had no intention of attending NYCC. As quite a few of us who spend time here, I consider myself a fan of both GA and DD and I was still hoping that IBG would come good on that "vanished event" from earlier in the year. Malibu convinced me that I should go ahead and buy my tickets, just in case DD confirmed he was coming. Don't misunderstand me. I would have attended for the chance to meet GA alone, but with 2 kids who are still quite young, if I could meet both in one trip, that would be epic!! ( I hope no one minds me posting this here, as this is the board I feel comfortable on) Of course, it all happened as we'd hoped. This weekend was wonderful . It was so great to be around such a large group of fans who adore G, but who were also just as excited about having the opportunity to finally meet DD and to be able to thank him. It was lovely to see how comfortable they were in each other's company. It made me laugh to see that they had actually pushed their autograph tables together on the Saturday. ( the day before when another actor was signing there, there was quite a large space between the tables) There was banter and conversation going on between signings. Very relaxed and comfortable.

Reflecting back on the Paley event. I guess saying I feel very lucky to have been in the 125 number who were in the room with them, is an understatement. We were very close to the front. I have always admired them both as people, actually likely even more so because of their individual struggles. I have been a fan since the beginning though and if , even 10 years ago, someone had told me that I would be sitting in a room watching them be affectionate to each other, gentle and kind and also exchanging friendly banter, I would have laughed. G has always seemingly had this beautiful naпvetй about her when she is relaxed. You can read all her emotions on her face. DD though has always seemed very wary in their interactions. That was gone. I can honestly say that as surprised as G seemed to be at his sincere thank you after The Unnatural clip, and as touched as she was, I think the audience was even more blown away. It really was beautiful to see that their relationship has changed to one of mutual affection and understanding. Also, how awesome was it to see hem both look so happy and relaxed. I had either forgotten or never realized exactly how tactile DD is.

The con panel was hilarious. Both were punchy and probably tired. DD seemed to really enjoy being able to send CC a crowd sung Happy Birthday. He was also pretty hilarious in how he knew exactly how to make G burst into laughter. It reminded me of the blooper reels where one or the other would catch someone's eye and everyone would be in hysterics immediately. It was over too quickly.

All of us had wonderful experiences with both actors (we were about 15 in all ) and I want to thank Malibu for convincing me to buy my tickets. I have admired these people for years and after posting here about G for so long and discussing DD among ourselves, it was wonderful being able to meet them finally.

The gum she starts to chew falls out of her mouth onto the table, so she just gestures for David to take that piece and he does LOL!
