У нас, например, когда случаются диалоги Ротару-фанат, Соня всё берёт на себя. Cама всё рассказывает, обо всём спрашивает. Думаю, с Джилл будет так же, если девушка проглотит язык. Звёзды - народ привычный. Они понимают, что в их присутствии некоторым сложно собрать мысли в кучу и сформулировать членораздельные фразы. Т.б. звёзды с таким *покладистым* характером и человечным отношением к поклонникам, как Джилл.

Это pdf файл, открылся он у меня только на работе, предварительно загрузив 2,5 метра. Там страница с подробным синопсисом, фотографиями всех занятых актёров (старых фоток, а не со съёмок) и описанием их ролей, т.е. кого эти актёры играют, фотографии мест съёмок, интерьеры внутри домов каких-то.

Worldwide attention has turned to the Peru-Brazil border where uncontacted Indians live, and the South American countries are finally feeling the pressure to protect them.

Survival International's campaign with newly released photos of the tribe, followed by a breathtakingly haunting film by the BBC, has raised awareness of one of the last uncontacted tribes in the world.

The BBC film, narrated by actor Gillian Anderson was made in collaboration with the Brazilian government for the new BBC 1 'Human Planet' series. Shooting from a kilometer away with a powerful zoom lens in order to minimize disturbance, the BBC crew captures gardens, homes, and people covered in red body paint. An undisturbed civilization. Unfortunately, it may not remain this way.

Illegal loggers have entered the Peru side, forcing the Indians into Brazil. Jose Carlos Meirelles, a member of the Indian Affairs Dept. in Brazil, is responsible for monitoring the land and proving that the tribe exists. According to him, "This footage is the only way to convince the rest of the world that they are here. If illegal loggers or miners contact these people, they won't shoot images... they'll shoot guns."

Until now, there has been little success in preventing the loggers from taking over the land. As Gillian Anderson reports, "Instead of expelling the loggers, Peru's government has suggested that uncontacted tribes don't exist at all." But that seems to be changing, as Peru's authorities have just announced that they play to work with Brazil to stop the loggers from entering Indian territory. Survival's Director Stephen Corry holds hope for the future, stating, "This is a really encouraging first step, let's hope their declared intention turns into real action quickly."

Gillian said today, ‘What comes across very powerfully from this amazing footage is how healthy and confident these people appear. I hope they can be left alone – but that will only happen if the loggers are stopped.’

Okay, so I’m in Los Angeles and the sun is shining which is a far cry from London weather and I have to say I’m a little gun shy about writing here for you guys because as you know it is no longer just between me and you. Every time I write something it ends up in an article as if I’m purposefully writing public commentary and just pisses me off. Eventually I’ll get over it and settle into the new Wikileak world but right now I’m having growing pains.

What can I say? I miss my boys. I just skyped with them and Oscar was making jam filled muffins and Felix was throwing a car against the wall and the internet is so bad where I’m staying that it kept cutting out and they got progressively frustrated and all I could see were blurs of screeching color flash across the screen and then freeze into pixels and die. Call again, “Mummy!” Pixels, die. Call again, “Look”! Pixels, die. Etc Etc. For an hour. I’m exhausted and it’s 9am.

Any Human Heart is airing here in the states on Sunday the 13th of Feb - I think I’m supposed to tell you guys those things. Don’t think there’s much publicity around it cause they spent it all on Downton Abbey. Now there’s something for People online - “Gillian Anderson was complaining recently on her blog...”. But so tell a friend. That it’s on. And there’s a lot of sex in it. Not involving me. But the cast is fantastic and the world is going to fall in love with Hayley Atwell.

What else? Oh the Fiasco magazines. I guess one or two of you have bought them online and received torn up copies. Please don’t send nasty emails to the editor. They’re a small company and doing their best to get the stuff out there for little to no profit. Сейчас вспоминаю и думаю, что Феликс, может, и не менял цвет волос Сначала были фотки, потом через какое-то время я помню, детей где-то видели с Марком и упоминалось, что Феликс по-прежнему белобрысый. А ещё позже сама Джи в письме об этом писала. Но фиг их там знает, поменяться ведь очень быстро всё может.

Director James Marsh (Man on Wire) told Vulture today that he's about to shoot an untitled espionage thriller (used to be called Shadow Dancer) with Clive Owen ready to star.
The film, a thriller, will be centered around the peace process in Northern Ireland in the nineties and will shoot in Dublin in early May.
British actress Andrea Riseborough (Never Let Me Go, Brighton Rock, Made in Dagenham) will play the female lead, a former IRA terrorist turned informer.
Supporting cast includes Aidan Gillen (The Wire) and Gillian Anderson.

Dear fans,

I wasn’t actually thinking I would write write. I have a very strange and bumpy relationship with my laptop. But to the point.

The other day, we had an OTSK board meeting in London and one of the things we discussed is a name change. If you visit the site you will read the reasons behind it which are many and deeply considered. The new name will be SA-YES South African Youth Education for Sustainability. Which is exactly what it is and, in part, what I wanted to talk about here.

One is that the OTSK program is doing extremely well and I am very very proud of what Michelle and the mentors and mentees have been up to on the ground in Capetown and I am very excited for the future of the program overall.

Statistically, the success rate is remarkable. There are youths in university, college, and in employment who would not be where they are, were it not for OTSK. Anyone out there who has contributed time or money to this charity should be very pleased with yourself and your direct positive influence on other’s lives.

The second thing is that this time now is crucial. There is a good chance that in a year or two, with potential sponsoring and funding coming in, the program will be self-sustainable. But in these early days it is really important that we keep our head above water and cover the running costs as well as - and just as importantly - grow. There are many many youths waiting in the wings to be a part of the program but it is just not financially feasible to take them on with the small income the charity is sustaining itself on now.

In the short term, I am going to auction another set of the Dave Wise photos which Dave himself had released online after the magazine ran. He gave me permission a while ago to print them up for auction.

In the upcoming months, I have hopes of convincing Universal to offer Johnny English 2 premiere tickets so that they can be auctioned off. I had previously promised the proceeds of the US tickets to go to ANSA but the London, Sydney and Hong Kong tickets should be auctionable for OTSK in the not too distant future. The film is very funny by the way. I have seen only a teeny bit but I think everyone will happily pee their pants.

I am also going to email my friends and ask that they consider making monthly donations of 10£ towards OTSK. I have not done this before but it’s time. We only have funds in the charity’s account to last until August so it’s push time. If any of you have relatives you haven’t bugged or employers who could spare some change, give them a little nudge to help us get over the hump into next year.

Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed to our growth so far. It really really is making a difference.

Oh and don’t forget to bid on the NF Doodle Day Doodles!! David did one and Simon Pegg drew Paul and there’s some GLEE action in there.

Ian McKellen, Judi Dench, Gillian Anderson, and Mark Williams are attached to star in Matthew Butler’s 18th century zombie romp, The Curse Of The Buxom Strumpet.

Butler will direct and has co-written the script with Tori Hart for the feature in which the inhabitants of a small seaside town are struck down with a deadly illness.

The feature is an extension of Butler’s short comedy film E'gad Zombies, also starring McKellen.

Butler and Hart are producing for their UK production company Fizz and Ginger, with Margaret Matheson exec producing. Butler is in talks with sales agents in Cannes, with a view to shooting the Ј2m film in Scotland later this year.

Shooting is set to start later this month on the BBC's three-part TV adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic novel Great Expectations.

Written by Sarah Phelps, and directed by Brian Kirk, it's billed as being "part thriller, part mystery, with a powerful love story at its heart and Dickens' trademark wit and characterisation throughout, Sarah Phelps' three-part adaptation embraces all of these qualities, delivering a vibrant, visceral, story."

Joining the already announced Ray Winstone (Magwitch), Douglas Booth (Pip), Gillian Anderson (Miss Haversham) and Izzy Meikle-Small (Young Estella) are:

19 year old Vanessa Kirby (represented by Ken McReddie), who this week made it on to Screen International's Stars of Tomorrow 2011 list, has been cast as Estella. After studying at Exeter University, Vanessa turned down a place at LAMDA drama school last year after being offered the opportunity to appear in three productions at the Bolton Octagon: Arthur Miller's All My Sons, Ibsen's Ghosts and A Midsummer Night's Dream and more theatre roles followed. She will also been seen in BBC2's newsroom drama The Hour later this month, playing young debutante, Ruth Elms.

Oscar Kennedy (represented by Curtis Brown) who played the young Nigel Slater in last year's acclaimed TV adaptation of the TV chef's memoir Toast, takes on the role of Young Pip.

Harry Lloyd, recently seen in Game of Thrones, and who is a descendant of Charles Dickens, is to play Herbert Pocket.

Eleven-year-old orphan, Pip (Oscar Kennedy) runs into an escaped convict on the marshes near his home. The convict, Magwitch (Winstone), orders the boy to steal a file from his Uncle Joe's forge to remove his shackles. The terrified Pip returns with the file and some food – and this innocent act of kindness is set to have far reaching consequences for them both.
Meanwhile, Miss Havisham (Gillian Anderson) the reclusive owner of grand Satis House, has requested a boy be sent to her; Pip is to be a playmate to her adopted daughter Estella. Miss Havisham encourages Pip to believe that he might be destined for a future beyond the marshes, a future linked to that of beautiful Estella. Pip's hopes are dashed, though, when Miss Havisham pays for him to be apprenticed to Joe as a blacksmith; it seems his dreams of greater things were unfounded.
At first Pip struggles to come to terms with a life in the forge but eventually he accepts this as his fate. However, everything changes when a lawyer from London, Jaggers, makes a surprise visit. He informs the now adult Pip (Douglas Booth) that he is a young man of great expectations and will inherit a fortune when he becomes twenty-one. There is one condition. Pip must not enquire into the identity of his benefactor; this will remain secret until that person chooses to reveal themselves. In the meantime Jaggers is his guardian. Pip sets out for London leaving all he knows behind to pursue his new life, with his heart set on seeing Estella again.

Great Expectations will screen at Christmas on BBC One.

Interview with Gillian Anderson of “Moby Dick” on Encore

While her most famous role involved chasing aliens and government conspiracies with David Duchovny on “The X-Files,” Gillian Anderson has kept busy over the years with other projects. Her latest casts her as the long-suffering wife of Captain Ahab as he obsessively tracks down the whale that maimed him in Encore’s re-imagining of “Moby Dick” in a 2-part mini series that premieres Aug 1. Anderson sat down with CableFAX’s Michael Grebb at TCA in L.A. to discuss the role, her X-Files legacy and of course how we can start a campaign to get her a guest spot on Showtime’s “Californication.”

CableFAX: First of all, what drew you to this role?

Anderson: Usually how it happens is somebody just gets a script to me. I’m not sure who’s idea it was to send it to me, but William Hurt was already attached and they were in discussions with Ethan Hawke. That fact alone intrigued me. I think if they had not been attached, I might not have read the script. Then there was the script itself. I had not read the novel before. I couldn’t relate it to anything, so I didn’t know if it was a good adaptation of the actual novel. But I liked the script. I liked the story. I felt like I understood the character. And I thought it might be fun to perform it.

CableFAX: It’s just so interesting to tackle this novel, which was written 150 years ago when attitudes about whales were so different.

Anderson: Ethan was just saying yesterday when we were talking to the foreign press that even when John Houston shot his version of it, they used real whales. The actually killed real whales live for the filming of it. So the attitudes from even the 1950s to today are very different.

CableFAX: So do you have to approach the role differently because of that?

Anderson: If I were the director of it and were having to shoot it, I’d have those thoughts but for me and my character, I didn’t think about it very much.

CableFAX: This is Encore’s big entrée into original cable programming. But did it feel like TV or just doing another big-screen movie?

Anderson: It felt very much like doing a movie, especially with the production values they had. Mike Barker, the director, has a really broad personality and he was very interested in how it was shot and the cinematic look of things. So it felt like being more part of a film than a mini-series. And it had William Hurt and Ethan Hawke and Donald Sutherland, so…

CableFAX: You’ve done everything from comedies to dramas to thrillers to period pieces lately. Do you have a favorite genre?

Anderson: I’d like to do more comedies. I did a comedy movie a few years ago called “Boogie Woogie,” and that was fun to do.

CableFAX: Of course, that movie was about the art world. And you’re an art collector yourself. Is that what attracted you to it?

Anderson: Yeah, it was that, and I actually knew the producers, and I liked how the cast was coming together. It looked like it would be a fun thing to be involved in. I’d like to do more comedy. I think people don’t really know me yet as that. The funny thing is that a lot of “The X-Files” scripts were comedy scripts, and I don’t think people realize that. We used to have a lot of fun with some of those episodes.

CableFAX: And you just did another X-Files movie in 2008. Do you and David Duchovny keep in touch during the down times?

Anderson: Oh yeah.

CableFAX: Great. I’m going to start a campaign to get you a guest spot on “Californication.”

Anderson: OK, please do because we’re actually doing a question-and-answer thing tomorrow at a charity event, and that’s one of the questions I have: Why haven’t they offered me a guest spot on Californication?

CableFAX: Seriously.

Anderson: It’s a no brainer! How funny would that be to be a completely, completely different character.

CableFAX: Right. It can’t be anything like Scully.

Anderson: And it has to be sexual—because how weird would that be? It would just be weird to see this person who was Scully, and anyway… we’ll start the campaign.

CableFAX: Are they going to do another X-Files movie?

Anderson: I think everybody hopes that they will. I don’t know who’s manning that campaign. I don’t know who’s writing the script, but I hope somebody is. I think we’d all be up for it. It’s just a matter of the studio getting on board, I think. That’s another campaign. We’ll have to do that campaign too.

CableFAX: Absolutely.

Anderson: Ok, great.

CableFAX: X-Files still has such a cult following, and it’s certainly your most recognizable role.

Anderson. Yeah, well it was 9 years long, and 101 episodes.

CableFAX: Right, so do you still get constantly stopped in the street by crazed X-Files fans?

Anderson: I get stopped for other stuff more than I do for X-Files, I think. But I think when people get star-struck around me, it’s because they were fans of The X-Files.

CableFAX: This particular production of “Moby Dick” is European. And you’ve done a lot of British TV because you live there now. How are British productions different from American ones?

Anderson: Well, I haven’t done an American mini-series, which is very different from doing an American series. But the crews are kind of different in both places, the energy of the crews are different in both places. But I don’t if it’s really that much different.

CableFAX: What’s it like working with the BBC?

Anderson: With the BBC, there’s just no budget. So you’ve basically got 3 takes to get it right. That has an impact on your focus and how prepared you are, and you’ve got to be more prepared than anything else.

CableFAX: Does it change your technique?

Anderson: Not really because I like to be prepared anyway. But you’ve got to be on the ball. And you’ve got to be okay with that kind of speed. But having done a speedy show before, which is what we did, I don’t think anything I do could be as hard as what we did back then. [LAUGHS]. With all the dialogue—sometimes it was 7-pages of monologue for Scully, Ms. Brainiac, so I would have to memorize it the night before after just having done a 16-hour workday. So I don’t think anything I jump on board to do is going to be as hard as that.

CableFAX: Despite those 16-hour days, would you be interested in doing another TV series?

Anderson: I might. My passion is film, and I do a lot of theater. But I could do it potentially. I look at stuff every once in a while, and if it feels like it’s right… I’m not really interested in a full-year, 24-episode show. I’m more interested in a 13-episode type thing. A comedy in that realm might be a good venue. So I look at comedy stuff every once and a while.

CableFAX: So much of that development is in L.A. To what degree does living in London make it more of a challenge to stay involved?

Anderson: I’ve got pretty good agents. It would probably behoove my career to come out here more often, but I’m pretty happy with the decisions that I’ve made.

So, every day for a week after the event in L.A. on July 30, I was going to post something because I was so strongly moved by everyone who turned up - and aside from being such a well produced event, it was such a lovely atmosphere all around - but then, as most things do, as you will have learned if you were present on that day, it slipped my mind.

I know that Chris and David felt the same way, both about my mind and the event and both remarked to me afterwards ‘let’s do it again!’ which we will maybe every couple of years.

I don’t know quite what it was. Was it the intimacy? Or that it was a tight run ship of like-minded smiling people getting a long awaited itch scratched? Or the fact that David did not come prepared which set the tone for a free fall of off-the-cuff silliness? Or was it simply my brilliant questions and seemingly bottomless sense of humor? Hard to say. BUT!!, I had a blast and I thank everyone who spent a penny more than they should have to be present for our truly wonderful evening.

Oh and I hear thru the grapevine that there were some truly unhappy people at the event and while I'd rather not get involved in the emotional aspects of it all, perhaps someone can lead a productive compassionate forum on what they might have liked to see done differently so that perchance all of us can learn how to make it better next time.

From my standpoint, the event ran quite smoothly, so I’m thinking perhaps negative experiences were due to exactly that reason and I am therefore truly sorry that in protecting me, others were not. May this be the beginning of a proactive and long living relationship.

And BTW, Michelle of SA-YES cried buckets when we told her how much you guys raised that day. Thank you from the bottoms of both of our buckets,

I’ve always had an interest in the disaster and have read extensively on the topic. There was a ghastly memorial service in Belfast this morning – with pop stars warbling, Sinn Fein Lord Mayor’s posing and the media all joining in with mawkish delight/insincerity. All that was missing was Kate Winslett although we DID have Gillian Anderson of X-Files fame present. (She has nothing to do in any way with Titanic but she was filming in Belfast so she got a prominent seat)..."

Okay so I am doing what I said I would never do which is set up social network sites. And I am starting by announcing that I will be doing another thing I said I would never do which is a convention. But what the hell it’s ten years since XF ended and why not commemorate?

These sites are mostly to get rid of imposters who have apparently been communicating with unsuspecting friends for some time now-weird! - and will only be for promoting charities and upcoming events and will be handled by my publicists.

Raised in Puerto Rico, America and England, married in Hawaii and Lamu, Gillian Anderson now finds herself irresistibly drawn to Sri Lanka. Sam Bayoumi speaks to the sci-fi starlet turned property developer.

Gillian Anderson falls in love easily. We're not talking past husbands (of which there have been two) but houses. She bought her first, in Vancouver, at the age of 24 or 25, flush from her success in The X-Files, the alien-chasing TV series in which she made her name. In the 18 years since, she's worked her way through 12 or 13 more residences. These are not the temporary rentals made to accommodate a life spent dashing around the world on film shoots. These are houses bought, done up and then sold on at a profit. Some become, for a while, the family home, some are weekend country retreats or holiday homes - but mostly they are projects.

Anderson is passionate about her real estate. She was recently shooting in an abandoned building in Belfast and the only thing she could think about, she says, was how great it would be to convert the place into apartments. So, is the woman who was the glacially cool Agent Dana Scully and who was voted FHM magazine's Sexiest Woman in the World in 1996 at heart a fanatical property developer? 'It's what I do,' she says. 'It's the way I get to be creative when I'm not working. I love buildings. I love houses.'

The passion for property dates back to her teens. She was born in Chicago, but when she was two her parents relocated to London where Anderson spent the next nine years; the family returned to the US to settle in Grand Rapids, Michigan, but Anderson would revisit London every summer. 'We had some neighbours in Crouch End [north London] and they had this flat that was exposed brick, and wood floors with seagrass carpeting, and odd curious objects of art that they had collected from around the world. They'd done the place themselves and I always felt like that's what I wanted my house to be like when I was a grown-up. When I was 16 I asked them if they ever sold their flat to call me. They did, eight years later, and said: "We know that you're famous now so you can afford it."'

Success in The X-Files, however, kept Anderson anchored first in Vancouver and later Los Angeles, where the TV series filmed for nine months out of every 12 for nine straight years. It was only when the show finished in 2002 (there have since been two big-screen sequels) that she headed for London. For an in-demand actress who could have walked into the cast of almost any Hollywood blockbuster it was not a move designed to further a career in the movies.

'I knew that when the show ended what I wanted to do was theatre, and for whatever reason I wanted to be in theatre in London rather than New York. So I came here, looked for a play and found one.' Her West End debut in What the Night Is For drew a warmer response from X-Files fans than theatre critics, who were hardly any more enthusiastic about her next play, The Sweetest Swing in Baseball. Her performance in Ibsen's A Doll's House at the Donmar theatre in 2009 was far better received - the Telegraph hailed her performance as Nora as 'superb... by turns sexy, neurotic, manipulative, terrified, and in the great last act absolutely merciless'.

She has also appeared in films The Last King of Scotland, A Cock and Bull Story and Johnny English Reborn, and later this year appears alongside Clive Owen and Andrea Riseborough in Northern Ireland thriller Shadow Dancer, and with Michael Caine in Mr Morgan's Last Love. On TV she was a startling Miss Havisham in Great Expectations, and was Bafta- and Emmy-nominated for her Lady Dedlock in Bleak House. She's also had two sons, Oscar, born 2006, and Felix, born 2008, with her current partner, an English businessman (there's also a daughter, Piper, from her first marriage).

Her first London home, acquired in 2002 (joining homes in Vancouver and Malibu), was on Portobello Road in Notting Hill, an area she chose because lots of her friends lived there. She turned a grimy old townhouse into a boho retreat - 'I changed the dining room into a Moroccan room with a banquette and lots and lots of colours, 18 layers of paint, that kind of stuff' - then moved on. She bought, made over and sold three more Notting Hill houses in quick succession. She then relocated to Bloomsbury, which she says was 'heaven' because the paparazzi never tracked her down there. She's since moved again and is in the process of renovating a new home in east London. It's a part of the city that in recent years has been colonised by artists, designers, architects and new-media agencies, but that is not why she's chosen it. 'I'm a bit of a hermit and it's easy to disappear over here. It's quite anonymous.'

As well as the east London house, Anderson has another project of a more international nature. Five and a half years ago while en route to India she stopped over in Colombo, did a little travelling and liked what she saw. 'Sri Lanka is a paradise. There are different climates on each side of the island - on one side it's winter, while on the other it's summer. The vegetation and wildlife are extraordinary, and you drive around and see 300ft white Buddhas all over the place - which is really cool.'

Back in London she started trawling property websites until she found something of interest: 'It was this house that was so beautiful and ridiculously huge, and the price tag on it was so low. I showed it to my daughter and she said: "Oh Mum, you can't not buy it," so when I was eight months pregnant with Felix, we flew out to take a look and I fell in love with it.'

Set in seven acres of lush grounds an hour's drive inland of Colombo, the house once belonged to a well-known aristocratic Sri Lankan family, one of whom was Justin Deraniyagala. One of the pioneers of Sri Lankan art, he studied at the Slade in London and then worked in Paris, a contemporary of painters such as Picasso, Matisse and Georges Braque; he painted Josephine Baker in the 1920s. When Anderson bought it, the house had been empty for over 30 years, and looked more like a haunted mansion than a liveable home.

Since then she has been flying out to Sri Lanka between six and eight times a year for two weeks at a time to oversee the renovation work being carried out by a local project manager and his team. The main house was reroofed, verandas and balconies were variously opened up and expanded, new bathrooms and kitchens were created, and several outbuildings were converted into additional accommodation.

An internal courtyard was reflagged using antique street stones, light fixtures and decorative glass came from India, the marble in the bathrooms came from Italy, a Spanish artist was employed to do decorative painted ceilings, and special eco-friendly air-con units were shipped over from China.

Anderson has filled the house with an extraordinary global assembly of furniture. The dining table used to be in her house in Malibu and has an Indian base of hammered silver (bought in an antique shop in California) with a top made from jarrah wood railway sleepers. A headboard in one of the bedrooms originates in a circus and was found at Portobello Road market. There's also a screening room, his and hers offices, and a meditation loft.

There are plans for an infinity swimming pool on a piece of high ground with 180 degree views of the neighbouring valleys but she's not sure if she is going to undertake this herself. 'I've been working on it for four years - I don't think I've ever worked on a house project that long before. So there's a part of me that feels like it's time for me to pass the project on.'

Her original idea had been to create an exclusive guesthouse retreat - the house has 13 bedrooms, plus multiple living areas, kitchens and bathrooms - but she's since had a change of heart. 'I'm not the person to have a boutique hotel or a house that is rented out on a regular basis. I thought I could do that but then I realised it's not me. I like to know that we're the only people using the place.' She's decided to put the property up for sale instead.

Besides which there's a possible intriguing new project on the horizon - her partner has just bought a Sri Lankan tea plantation.
