David Duchovny to Make Stage Debut in LaBute Play

Over the course of David Duchovny’s acting career his characters have gone to some unusual places, from the alien environs of ”The X-Files” to many a Los Angeles bedroom on ”Californication.”
But there is one place Mr. Duchovny has never been: on the stage in a professional capacity. (”Not professional,” he said in a telephone interview. ”Very unprofessional.”)
That’s about to change. On Wednesday, MCC Theater said Mr. Duchovny would make his proper stage debut in its coming production of ”The Break of Noon,” a new play by Neil LaBute.
Mr. Duchovny, who is in Los Angeles wrapping up a new season of ”Californication,” said he has previously acted ”Off, off, off, off — as many off’s as you can put in front of Broadway.” He added: ”I’ve never done anything close to this scale.”
When he first began acting in New York, Mr. Duchovny said, he could occasionally be found in theaters, taking part in a familiar rite of passage.
”In L.A., they’re called showcases,” he said. ”In New York, nobody comes to see them so you can’t really call them showcases.”
He has since appeared more often in film and television roles, but he said he had been won over by Mr. LaBute’s script for ”The Break of Noon,” which Mr. Duchovny called ”fascinating and moving and original, and intimidating in many ways.”
The play, which will be directed by Jo Bonney, is to begin performances at the Lucille Lortel Theater on Oct. 28. It is a co-production with the Geffen Playhouse, which will present it in Los Angeles next year.
”The Break of Noon” is described in a news release as centering on a character called John Smith (played by Mr. Duchovny) who ”amidst the chaos and horror of the worst office shooting in American history, sees the face of God,” setting off a ”maelstrom of disbelief among everyone he knows.”
”The setup is grim, of course,” Mr. Duchovny said, ”but there’s certainly some darker, absurd, humorous moments. It tends towards the spiritual and the human. It’s a very surprising play, with a very surprising stance on tragedy.”
Also, having recently resumed living in New York, Mr. Duchovny said: ”I just thought, well, I can stay home and work if I do the theater. That would be a really nice schedule to try. I remember reading this article about Matthew Broderick riding his bike to the theater and it just sounded very romantic to me.”
Asked if he could survive the New York stage, which has been known to make mincemeat of cable-television stars, Mr. Duchovny said: ”Who knows? I don’t think of myself as a TV actor. I think of myself as a film, television and Off-Off-Off-Off Broadway actor.”
”Certainly,” he added, ”I wouldn’t succeed at musical theater."

MCC Theater (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, rtistic Directors; William Cantler, Associate Artistic Director; Blake West, Executive Director) today announced that David Duchovny ("The X-Files," "Californication") will make his New York stage debut in the world premiere production of Neil LaBute's The Break of Noon, directed by Jo Bonney, a co-production with the Geffen Playhouse. Rehearsals begin September 28, and performances in New York will begin at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) on October 28. Mr. Duchovny will be performing in the New York portion of the run; casting for Los Angeles will be announced at a later date.
In LaBute's newest play, Mr. Duchovny will star as John Smith, a man who, amidst the chaos and horror of the worst office shooting in American history, sees the face of God. His modern-day revelation creates a maelstrom of disbelief among everyone he knows. A newcomer to faith, John urgently searches for a modern response to the age-old question: at what cost salvation?
David Duchovny was born and raised in New York City. He attended Princeton University, where he played one season as shooting guard on the school's basketball team, received his Masters Degree in English Literature from Yale, and was on the road to earning his Ph.D. when he caught the acting bug.
Duchovny emerged to become one of the most highly acclaimed actors in Hollywood. Duchovny starred alongside Demi Moore in the April release of the film The Joneses, which premiered at last year's Toronto Film Festival. He is filming the fourth season of Showtime's hit "Californication," for which he won the Golden Globe in January 2008 for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. Duchovny became the only actor in Globe history to win for both a drama and comedy series. He also received Golden Globe nominations for the second and third seasons of series and a SAG nomination for season two. Duchovny is one of the show's executive producers.
From 1993-2002, Duchovny starred in Fox Television's monster hit "The X-Files," which earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series and two nominations for an Emmy for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series. He was also nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his highly acclaimed appearances on "Life With Bonnie" and "The Larry Sanders Show." Additionally, he has been nominated for three Golden Globe Awards for Best Actor in a Drama Series, five Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series and a TV Critics Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series. The press and the public agree that Duchovny brings a fierce intellect, a quiet intensity and an acerbic wit to his roles on both the small screen and the silver screen.
Duchovny's remarkable performance on "The X-Files" earned him the title of "Zeitgeist Icon" by Laura Jacobs of The New Republic and "the first Internet sex symbol with hair" by Maureen Dowd of The New York Times.
Duchovny added the role of director to his already extensive list of accomplishments when he wrote, directed and starred in two critically acclaimed episodes of "The X-Files," titled "The Unnatural," which starred Jesse L. Martin, and "Hollywood A.D.," starring Garry Shandling and Téa Leoni.
Duchovny's passion for renegade films brought him critical acclaim for his performances in the feature films Kalifornia, in which he costarred with Brad Pitt and Juliette Lewis; the controversial film The Rapture, directed by Michael Tolkin, in which Duchovny starred opposite Mimi Rogers; and Julia Has Two Lovers, in which he turned in a much heralded performance as a telephone hustler.
Duchovny played Roland "Rollie" Totheroh, Charlie Chaplin's longtime confidante and cameraman, in the Sir Richard Attenborough directed Chaplin, with Robert Downey, Jr. in the title role; and starred in the smash hit Beethoven, opposite Charles Grodin.
His feature credits include the action-comedy Evolution, opposite JuliAnne Moore, the romantic-comedy Return To Me, directed by Bonnie Hunt, The X-Files: Fight The Future, and Playing God, with Timothy Hutton and Angelina Jolie. Duchovny appeared in Ben Stiller's film Zoolander (a hilariously funny unbilled cameo performance).
Still recognized for his role as Dennis/Denise Bryson, the transvestite detective in David Lynch's breakthrough television series "Twin Peaks," Duchovny also spent four seasons as the impassioned narrator of "Red Shoe Diaries," which began as a feature length telefilm for Showtime.
In 2002, he starred in the Miramax ensemble comedy Full Frontal, for director Steven Soderbergh, co-starring Julia Roberts, George Clooney and David Hyde Pierce. Duchovny has made brief returns to television, first appearing in good friend Bonnie Hunt's show, "Life With Bonnie," in which he guest starred as over-the-top weatherman Johnny Volcano, (for which he was nominated for an Emmy in 2003). Following that, he made a memorable appearance on "Sex in the City," as an ex-flame of Sarah Jessica Parkers' Carrie Bradshaw.
Duchovny made his feature directorial debut in 2005 with House of D, which he also wrote and appeared in. The film, which starred Robin Williams and Anton Yelchin, vividly captured the spirit of youth in all its joy and heartbreak.
He also starred in Trust the Man, a romantic comedy in which he starred with JuliAnne Moore, and The TV Set, directed by Jake Kasdan. Never one to slow down, he was still active behind the camera directing an episode of the Fox television series "Bones" starring David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel.
Duchovny appeared in the feature films Things We Lost in the Fire, opposite Halle Berry and Benicio Del Toro; and The Secret, directed by Vincent Perez and produced by Luc Besson.
In the summer of 2008, he appeared in The X-Files: I Want to Believe, the follow up to the X-Files Movie, in which he reprises his role as agent Fox Mulder.

Ладно, а сюжет каков? Пошёл "офисный работник" на перерыв, и тут началась пальба. Скукожился где-нить в уголке, может молился, чтобы пуля не задела. И "прозрел". Причём, у него своя концепция веры, а окружающие его люди, которые верят "по канону", руками разводят и начинают сомневаться

Тут одна девушка с Хэвна прочитала сценарий (уже можно купить на амазоне) и оставила комменты...
Во-первых, Дэвид будет всё время на сцене, первый монолог - 12 страниц нон-стопом, и заключительный примерно такой же.
Во-вторых, он будет ходить к "госпоже". Как это всё обыграют и кто именно это будет - остаётся пока что только догадываться, но в скрипте речь идёт о связанном мужчине с кляпом во рту и завязанными глазами, в положении "лицом в подушку, попой кверху", и судя по всему в кожаных стрингах.
И ещё есть там немного про sex addiction и осознание своих грехов.
Короче, если честно то я примерно чего-то подобного и ожидала. Предлагаю всем переварить инфу и начать морально готовиться...

It also doesn't help that John is simply not that adept at being good. In his attempt to pass on some information to the daughter (a dominatrix) of a murdered co-worker he winds up becoming a leather-clad client. John stumbles and trips throughout the rest of his journey, lying at some point to just about everyone he encounters before finally offering full disclosure. The ending is elegant, mysterious (there's that word again) and surprising without quite feeling like a "twist." ..."

Хм.... Я уже даже не знаю, надеяться на фотки с этого действа или лучше надеяться, что их не будет...

Я чисто по губам ориентировалась, у Дэвида с возрастом губы начали как-то "усыхать", а тут...

Джон Смит работает в офисе, приходит человек и расстреливает всех кроме Джона. Во время перестрелки Джон слышит голос Бога, детает то, что тот ему велит, и таким образом остаётся вживых. А ещё он делает фотографии - снимает трупы и стреляющего. Джон очень сильно изменился и верит, что Бог хочет, чтобы он пошёл и рассказал всем людям о том, что надо быть лучше и добрее - а люди из-за этого считают, что он выжил из ума.
Всё начинается с того, что Джон стоит на сцене один и рассказывает о том, что случилось - о перестрелке и встрече с Богом. И о том, что Бог сказал ему идти вперёд и донести до людей идею "люди должны быть добрее друг к другу"(или относиться друг к другу лучше).
Он встречается с адвокатом, который помогает ему продать фотографии и заработать кучу денег. Он принимает участие в телепередаче, чтобы рассказать, что с ним произошло, но когда он начинает говорить про встречу с Богом, ведущая засыпает его провокационными вопросами, но под конец говорит, что верит ему. Потом они начинают жестоко спорить - чуть ли не ругаться на тему "правду ли Джон говорит, полностью ли он откровенен" итд, в результате Джон уходит со съёмок.
Джон идёт к своей бывшей жене, хочет помириться, но она к этому не стремится. Потом он идёт к "госпоже", которая истраивает ему порку, но выясняется, что он пришёл к ней не ради секса - просто её мать работала вместе с ним и естественно была убита. Так что он пришёл поделиться с ней деньгами, которые получил от продажи фотографий.
Потом он встречается с кузиной свой бывшей жены - у них был роман в то время, когда он был женат. Он хочет рассказать обо всём бывшей жене и покаяться в грехах. Кузина тоже думает, что он сошёл с ума, раз хочет обо всём рассказать и ещё потому что он считает, что слышал голос Бога.

Во, выложили "концовку" Маленькая предыстория - пару дней назад один товарищ (Matthew Holtzclaw, специалист по созданию спецэффектов и иллюзий, насколько я поняла - не киношных, театральных) написал на твиттере, что полдня проработал с Дэвидом, чтобы тот сделал невозможное для ЛаБьюта. Судя по всему, эта фишка будет в конце.

В последней сцене Джон проповедует в церкви, за его спиной витраж, выглядит так, будто это нимб //на постере мы это видели ///. Он снова рассказывает о перестрелке, но на этот раз упоминает намного больше. Стрелявший раньше работал в этой компании. Сам Джон и коллеги мучали парня, потому что он был то ли мексом, то ли филлипинцем - (Hispanic, короче). Всяко-разно над ним издевались, устраивали жестокие розыгрыши и постоянно докапывались до него. Потом Джон его уволил. Тогда он пришёл в офис с калашом, всех перестрелял, нашёл Джона, засунул дуло ему в рот и нажимал на курок - автомат не стрелял. Потом он перезарядил автомат, но это не подействовало. Тогда он засунул дуло себе в рот, автомат начал стрелять и ему разнесло голову. В самом конце монолога Джон поднимает руки к небу и отрывается от земли, зависает в воздухе, а потом - яркая вспышка, и он исчезает, просто испаряется.

Ну... если видео записывать - то палево будет А вот звук записать вполне возможно - либо на телефонный диктофон, либо обзавестись небольшим диктофончиком... Я так концерты селиновские записывала - очень просто, покупаешь в ближайшей аптеке самую большую "банку" сухого дезедоранта, вываливаешь из неё содержимое, выдираешь штырь, на который собственно дезик крепится, засовываешь туда диктофон, прокладываешь ваткой (чтобы не стучало, когда в сумке будут шариться на входе), закрываешь крышкой и вперёд. Потом идёшь в туалет и смело разбираешь конструкцию Остаётся только нажать на "запись" за пару минут до начала и благополучно забыть до самого конца - главное чтобы памяти хватило

Thanks so much to everyone for posting your reports, links, and pictures, most of which I've been able to see. Special thanks to Vivien, whose pics - those I've been able to download - are absolutely wonderful. to you all.
I had read the play, and was planning to follow the dialogue, especially the first crucial monologue, as closely as possible, but I found myself watching David instead of really "hearing" what he was saying. (The hands, the AYSF tattoo, is right in front of me!) Strange. I think it's such a mind blowing experiance (to quote tamilu) that the brain can't quite take it all in. There's a level of excitement, mixed with - in my case - disbelief that I'm finally looking at David in person, that causes everything to go by in a blur. And although I had a camera ready cell phone, and a Sharpie, just in case, I really wasn't counting on being able to get that close at the stage door. When it happened, there was a decided disconnect between my mouth and brain. Wish I'd been better prepared!
Although I feel very fortunate to have seen the play, I can't help but envy those who are going to see it 2 or more times. It would be great to see it in several weeks when it comes together more into a polished whole. I thought David did a superb job, and the entire cast is strong, but I feel that as he gets more into the role before a live audience, and perhaps becomes a bit more sure about the character in the beginning (when John is confused, unsure, and being ridiculed), that he has the potential to deliver a truly stunning performance.
I'm sure there have already been tweaks and changes since I saw it. According to the official play pics, David's gray blanket in the first scene is now blue, his pants leg is rolled up above the knee (bare leg!), and there's blood on the bandage, with a bit less on the shirt and tie. Much more realistic, and the blue really frames the figure of John. Several other outfits look slightly different (I think), and I don't remember that red light (sunset??) in the Amanda/Jessie scene. And just curious - there was some talk about a malfunction in the levitation scene. Was there a change from the first night when he was about a foot off the ground with his sneakers waggling up and down?
I did get an unexpected extra. We stopped by the theater to pick up our tickets before dinner, and parked directly across the street. There was a lone figure on the sidewalk, cell phone to ear, and it took me about a full 20 seconds to realize that OMG, that's David! I took off acrosss the street like a bird dog on point after a plump pheasant. David was walking back and forth, pacing actually, looking quite intense and totally focused on his call. Snug navy T-shirt, slim jeans, serious shoulders, looking super fit. He went all the way to the corner, me following at a discreet distance, staring. I got a close-up as he turned around and passed me - very straight nose in profile, gorgeous skin. He was obviously preoccupied, paying no attention to his surroundings. It was, after all, only 3 hours before curtain time. I silently wished him "Break a leg" and reluctantly went to dinner.
I very much enjoyed meeting Pippy (David greeter extraordinaire) and several other delightful Havenites whose names have unfortunately disappeared from my foggy brain. The entire evening was an extraordinary experience, one I'd love to repeat in slow motion, with access to a rewind and stop-action button.
I'm going to go now and try to figure out how to extricate my few blurry but treasured pictures from my cell phone without destroying them, and meditate on the fact that I am really, truly, incredibly, deeply envious of Tea!

Encore recently spoke to Peet while she was in Belfast about The Break of Noon, working with David Duchovny and whether she would take Jerry Seinfeld to the Tonys.
On the workshop process for The Break of Noon: We just kind of sat around reading it and making sure that everything was cracking, and just trying to figure out the best way to help Neil, if he wanted to make any changes.
On playing two characters: I’m not sure what I’m supposed to give away, but I play David Duchovny’s ex-wife and another woman that he’s close to. One of them believes that he’s had a revelation and one of them doesn’t.
On whether it’s tough to play two roles in the same play: No. I mean, I might be if I had to go from one to the other, but I have a little reprieve in the middle.
On what draws her to Neil’s work [Peet was also in 2005’s This is How It Goes]: He’s really funny, for one thing. He certainly makes me think about things and I also find his work to be really entertaining.
On the differences between Neil’s writing and Neil himself: He’s really gentle and lovely and understanding, and he’s very astute psychologically. Most of the people he writes about aren’t any of those things.
On whether her familiarity with David Duchovny (they both appeared in The X-Files: I Want to Believe) will help their performances: Yeah, I do. Since I’m so fond of him, I think it would have been okay anyway, but it’s nice to have that past because we spent some time together already.
On working in the New York theater community and her and David both being native New Yorkers: I really love New York. I love doing a show in New York and being a part of the New York theater world. I’m pretty sure this is David’s first time on stage. I think he’s really excited, and also terrified, which is good because I have the worst stage fright ever.
On when gets over her stage fright: No, there’s nothing to get me past it. I’ll throw up and run to the bathroom every five minutes. I usually lose about seven pounds. There’s nothing worse. You might ask, “Why do this?”
On why she does this, and how it long it takes for the fear to subside: Every time I do a play, I call my friend during previews and say, “Why the fuck did you let me do this?”… Not after a week, it’s much longer than that. I almost go straight from terror to boredom, and there are a couple of shows in-between that are really great.
On why she picked this role, after not appearing in a play since 2006’s Barefoot in the Park: I love Neil and really responded to the play. I thought it was really powerful and I love David Duchovny. Then, to top it all off, I have two babies and it’s the closest theater to my house that I could work at. I’ll put my babies down and then run over there.
On her first theater role: It was a play called Winter Wise that was on Theater Row with Bobby LuPone, who played my father. And then I did Awake and Sing! at Jewish Repertory. That was my first big thing, kind of.
On her role models: My two favorites, the ones that I’ve been obsessed with, are Emma Thompson and Edie Falco, who I just saw in This Wide Night. She was amazing in it. She’s not vain and so funny without trying to be funny.
On whether she’d invite Jerry Seinfeld to the Tonys if she got nominated, like he did in the “Summer of George” episode of Seinfeld: First of all, I’m not going to get nominated for a Tony. Second of all, I would take Jerry any time, anywhere, just not sexually.

Ну-с, начнем. Наверно, начну не прямо со спектакля, а с подготовки к нему. Где-то в июне вышла неожиданная новость о том, что Дэвид будет на Бродвее. Едем на премьеру! – решили мы и начали паковать чемоданы. Весьма интересным был период подготовки к поездке, выбор подарков для Дэвида и Ко, заготовки маек и т.д. В общем, решились мы и сели в самолет. Практически неделю путешествовали по звездно-полосатой стране и вот наконец приехали в Нью-Йорк. Билеты мы купили заранее на три спектакля, так чтобы уж наверняка его запомнить =)
В день премьеры мы волновались, как будто самим нужно было выходить на театральную сцену и полтора часа изображать из себя сумасшедшего параноика. Приехали к театру примерно за два часа до спектакля, погуляли по райончику, о чем обязательно вскоре упомяну. Так вот, у театра пофоткали афиши, себя показали, стали высматривать Дэвида. Тешить себя пустыми надеждами нам не пришлось, за нас это сделал бродячий гитарист =) Осторожно подкатив к нам, он сказал, что Дэвид выходил из театра за 10 минут до нашего прихода и даже пообщался с ним. «Возможно», подумали мы и снова уткнулись в свое обсуждение любимого взгляда Духовны. Гитарист никак не хотел сдаваться и шепнул, что выходить-то он выходил, а вот обратно так и не зашел. «Пипец» Дэвиду – подумалось мне. «Надо его не упустить» - сказала я вслух. Достав из закромов подзорные трубы, бинокли и прочие, имеющиеся у нас каждый день в кармане, вещицы стали высматривать его. Спасибо Дэвиду, что в нем почти два метра, упустить его нереально =)) Но мы упустили, так и не увидели заветную макушку до спектакля. Итак, про райончик хочется все-таки упомянуть. Если в вкратце, то дома располагались примерно так: секс-шоп, гейский клуб, секс-шоп, салон красоты, театр Дэвида, секс-шоп =)) В общем, театр в каких-то самых не очень приятных задворках Бродвея находится ( Нормальное дело там встретить фриков или двух целующих друг друга парней. Жесть одним словом.
Тем временем народ заполнял узкую улочку возле театра, сотрудники открыли двери. Мы зашли в зал. Театр очень маленький, входишь и сразу попадаешь в зрительный зал. Сели на свой первый ряд, огляделись в поиске Теи. Не нашли. Зато отметили для себя одну немаловажную деталь – ну одни старики! Не удивлюсь, что мы были самыми молодыми в этой аудитории. Возможно, зал настолько «пожилой», потому что местные бабульки ходят на любое шоу на Бродвее, а возможно Хэвэн снова не оправдал мои ожидания =)))
Перейдем непосредственно к спектаклю. Маленький ликбез (для тех, кто еще не знает). Спектакль состоит из 8 частей, две из которых (в начале и конце) – это довольно-таки продолжительные монологи Джона Смита (ака Дэвид). Пьеса рассказывает о человеке, выжившем в перестрелке в офисе и «увидевшем» перед собой лицо Бога. Так вот, Бог якобы приказал быть Джону «хорошим». Что Джон, наглухо погрязший в своей грязной жизни, и пытается сделать. Зарабатывая деньги на фотографии перестрелки, он убеждает всех и, прежде всего себя, что «God told me to be a good man». Он тратит эти деньги на покупку земли своей бывшей жене, на шлюху, но не забывает намекнуть себе и нам, что большинство потратил на благотворительность все-таки.
В итоге, на протяжении 6 историй он пытается «выжить» в создавшейся ситуации, при этом пытаясь поставить на путь истинный своих оппонентов.
В общем, это не совсем долгая, но дико философская и симпатичная пьеса.
Особенно хочу отметить актрису Трэйси Чимо. Она потрясающе влилась в обе свои роли (ТВ-хост и Диву ). Троекратное ей браво! Не могли мы оставить ее без матрешки и вручили ей подарок на последнем спектакле.
Дэвид. Ну просто обворожителен! Сейчас, сравнивая все три спектакля, вспоминается его волнение на первом. Для него это настолько было в новинку, что порой, мне кажется, он сам не понимал, что ему нужно делать. Но справился и с волнением, и с публикой, и со своей игрой. Надо сказать, что все актеры ему помогали, не торопили. Давали время спрятаться с волнением или лишний раз выпить водички, чего на сцене было предостаточно. Но тогда, конечно, этого всего не было заметно. Мы смотрели на него и пытались осмыслить, что сейчас перед нами тот самый агент Малдер из-за которого…и тд и тд. )
Во время последнего монолога хотелось прямо с ним там заплакать, ох, любит Дэвид в такие моменты включать свой фирменный взгляд побитого щенка =)
В общем, спектакль прошел на ура, зал смеялся, реагировал на происходящее на сцене, в конце, во время аплодисментов зал встал.
На втором спектакле Дэвид был увереннее. Даже чересчур старался. Импровизировал. Кстати, в зале мы нашли, сидевшую в двух-трех рядах от нас Наташу. Все время забываю ее фамилию ( Она тоже ярко реагировала на спектакль. Да что там говорить, в сцене с ТВ-хост ржала во все 32 )))
Ну а на третьем спектакле Дэвид, откровенно говоря, веселился. Для него это был четвертый спектакль (мы были 28, 29 и 30 октября, в субботу у него было два спектакля, на утренний мы не попали). Так вот, в некоторых моментах он даже смеялся во время сцены. С большой уверенностью могу сказать, что веселился именно Дэвид, а не Джон Смит. Видно было, какой он от всего этого занятия кайф получает =))
После первого спектакля мы ждали его, как и большинство зрителей у выхода из театра. Минут через 30 он вышел, прифигел от количества, но не сбежал. Терпеливо подписывал всем афтографы, фотографировался и общался. Дошла очередь и до нас. «Привет» -сказал он нам и мы померли =) «Мне понравились ваши майки» - сказал он следом, на что мы обмякшим голосом только и смогли вырвать из себя ропотное «спасибо». И тут же он произнес: «Эй, я видел вас на первом ряду сегодня, спасибо вам». Тут на грабли решила наступать я (ведь как гласит народная мудрость – обойдя грабли – теряешь драгоценный опыт). Я сказала ему, что мы так еще на трех спектаклях будем, что мы фром Раша и у нас для него подарочек. «Вау, давайте» - сказал он. В общем, начала доставать я из пакета презенты. Мы подарили ему авторскую книгу Чехова на английском языке (литератор ведь!) и матреху. Когда я достала матрешку, он так живо среагировал – «О! Это же русская кукла!» *помнит наверно чайную церемонию* пронеслось в моих мозгах =) Ну и тут я ступила. Оставив его с толстенной книгой и не менее толстенной деревянной бабой в руках, я повернулась и собралась было уже идти. Как он в спину мне самым своим еврейским голосом: «А пакет?» =))) Смеялись буквально все )))
Потом он сказал, что будет ждать нас завтра и попрощался со всеми (мы уже успели сфоткаться и взять автографы). И пошел он вместе с Амандой пешком. Не в сторону метро, видимо, Аманда подвозит безавтомобильного Дэвида .
На второй и третий спектакль он узнавал нас. Даже несмотря на то, что на последний спектакль мы пришли без своих заветных маек. Весьма интересная история у нас с ними была. В Америке есть очень популярная забегаловка, где продаются пончики, булочки и тд, которая называется Donkin Donats (ну или просто DD). Короче, половина Америки считала нас фанатами булочек =)))) Мы стоим возле афиши The Break of Noon, где черным по-белому написано David Duchovny, а у нас все равно спрашивают, неужели эти пончики и впрямь такие вкусные? =))))))
Так вот, оба вечера Дэвид подходил, здоровался (не трудно ему было выделить три молодые макушки, среди фанатов пенсионного возраста). Подписал нам купленные нами заранее книжечки The Break of Noon. Удивился, что их уже печатают. Мы пригласили его в Россию, сказали, что тут его очень сильно все любят и ждут. «Я подумаю» - ответил он. Ну и попрощаться тоже успели, сказав ему, что обязательно еще приедем.
Улетали мы в слезах, но безумно довольные. Мечта исполнилась )

Здорово, что он в театр "пришел". Вот тут по-настоящему узнаешь актера. Конечно по фильмам тоже можно судить, но ведь в театре не переиграешь сцену заново, если не вышло, в отличие от кино, где можно хоть 5 дублей сделать))) Здорово все таки! *Замечталась* (что-то я сегодня весь день в мечтах о НЙ и ДД

I saw the show Saturday night. I loved David's performance. I did not love the play--I thought it was too superficial, and too ambiguous. David did a great job giving John Smith a depth that I don't think the words on the page did.
After the show it was kind of funny---he came out the main doors, and only a few of us immediately approached for autographs/photos, although there was an big crowd there. The first girl to approach had what I think was an "I Want to Believe" poster, and when David signed it, he poked a hole right through it with the pen. He made the cutest "oops!" face, apologized, and said "I hope it's not some rare, one-of-a-kind poster!" So anyway, we got our autographs (didn't get my photo taken with him, as I got one during the HoD promo blitz), and moved out of the way, and then.... nothing: This big semicircle of people with cameras and cell phones raised, looking at David and taking his picture from a distance, as if they were looking at a monkey at the zoo or something. VERY strange! Finally after an awkward moment of them looking at him and him looking at them, David said "anyone else?" and another person approached. Finally David said "Don't be shy, people!" and that seemed to break the ice and people approached him. I just loved that he's the one who lightened the mood. After that there were lots of people getting pictures with him.
He seemed to be in a great mood. Before he left he spoke to a woman in a wheelchair who seems to have been at a lot of shows, because the other actors (minus Amanda Peet, who I never saw) stopped to talk to her, too. I heard David say "you probably saw my mother" to her; if his mom was at the evening performance, I didn't see her (though I didn't look, either!). I figured she'd been at the matinee. David also said he'd thought the matinee performance had gone better that day.
When every fan was satisfied, David just picked up his bag and walked down the Bedford Street, and that was that.
I've met my fair share of famous people over the years, and while they are usually nice and felicitous with fans, there's just something different about David. Maybe it's because I've seen him surrounding projects he has a vested interest in getting feedback on (House of D, and now this play), but he truly seems interested in what people are saying to him. Either he really IS interested, or he's a better actor than any of us give him credit for! I'm going with the former.
Ok so here's what happened. I saw the show again. Liked it again. Not many changes as far as I could see. The ending went off very well unlike the first night when DD was up in the air kind of wiggling. He seemed more ready for it. I think he's really starting to get into the groove of the run. I liked his work and I liked all of the other actors too. It always inspires me to see such amazing work by great actors. Even though the tone of the show is rather dark and kind of depressing at times.
Now onto the post show fun! I went solo this time because my hubby had to teach. So he came to meet me after the show when I was waiting for DD to come out. I was waiting outside the door to the right of the entrance of the theatre. First John Earl Jelks came out and I was the first one he talked to and I said "great work" and right after that everyone outside gave him a big applause. Then a few mintues later Tracee Chimo came out and again there was applause. She was very humble and her reaction to the crowd was really cute. Then several minutes went by and ..... DD came out the door on the other side! So I scooted my way over there. He looked at little tired. He was taking pictures and signing playbills, etc when I noticed the girl in front of me was holding Mulder action figure. So he signed the butt on the action figures pants (LMAO). I found this rather amusing. Then another girl who I had talked to before the show was taking a pic with him and she told him that her boyfriend looked just like him. This was when my other half made a comment (he's a comedian so of course) and said "long lost relative" DD looked at him and smiled/laughed at that comment. Then after her pic he looked at me and I told him that he did some great work and that I was there on the first night. He winked at me and said "oh so it got better right??" I of course said yes. I asked him for a pic and he said sure.. then my husband said "say cheese!!!" (OMG WTF ... anyway I thanked him and we got the hell outta there. A lot of people were still waiting to get autographs and pics. Then I found out that he didn't take a picture but he actually took a video of the whole thing. I asked him if he wanted to get one of him and DD and he said no. There were enough other people wanting pics.
I'm not sure how kosher it is to post the video on youtube. I uploaded it to my account under private because I don't want it to end up on TMZ or something. But I do have some stills I can post.
My husband wanted to post it on his blog but I told him had to go back and get one of his own with DD. lololol.. we might just go back Tues .. But we already have tix to go back on 12/7.

If you can stand another play experience stagedoor/front door observation:
I really like the play - Tracee Chimo is INCREDIBLE. I was really impressed by Amanda Peet proving once and for all CC gave her nothing to work with in IWTB.
David was good, but his voice is gone and you could tell his energy level just wasn't there. I have found out from various sources he's sick. One of the MCC Theater people sort of said, "like should be home in bed sick."
He was gracious to people and signed autographs but you could tell he wanted nothing better than to get in the car that was waiting for him.
I also overheard him talking with someone who might be a relative and he said something like, "Tea was in Turkey this summer for a few days." Unicef?
I am going back tonight with my husband so I hope David is feeling better. With opening night just days away he either goes on or they have to cancel performances - I just don't see him allowing that to happen.

Еще недавно он так не выглядел. Да что-то мне тоже кажется, что ему как раз опыта уже хватило. Вот ни на одной фотке он счастливым и довольным не выглядел на фоне обалдевших от счастья фанов, и похудел очень сильно, скоро совсем как в Джонсах будет. Поскорее бы уже это всё закончилось, хз, вроде полтора часа всего на сцене, а выматывает судя по всему прилично. Не удивлюсь если он в скором времени из театра начнёт выходить не через главный вход, а из какой-нибудь лазейки, и бегом-бегом к машине. Посмотрим что он потом в интервью скажет, ведь 100% будут задавать вопросы. И судя по последнему видео этот трёп на тему религии ему поднадоел уже... В какой-то момент аж пальцами захрустел
Причём в том же самом интервью Аманда прямо вся такая бодренькая, а наш кыся в основном выглядит как расквашенный пельмень... Кисю бы в постель, в тепло и заботу, а не по театрам шляться. Надеюсь, ничего серьезного. Было бы что-то совсем серьёзное - лежал бы дома... Самое стрёмное что голос сел, он и так чуть ли не кричит там всю дорогу... Ага, я тож заметила в конце, когда Аманда отвечала, он нервно и устало сидел слушал, и мимика была несколько раздраженная.
Религия вообще специфическая тема, а тем более в том количестве, как она в спектакле и обсуждениях к нему.
Может устал уже от нее?..Ну играют многие, но не все так выматываются.. Сама говоришь, что Аманда вон бодрячком сидела. Может просто театр - не его?
К тому же, мне почему-то кажется, что он толком не выбирал спектакль: зажегся идеей попробовать, ему агент по его просьбе прислала сценарий, прочитал, решил, что нормально, согласился... Не знаю, у меня не создалось впечатления, что он как-то подбирал сценарий спектакля или рассматривал несколько вариантов. Как будто ему интересен был просто опыт работы на театральной сцене, а не сама постановка как таковая. Так что если сценарий был выбран почти первый попавшийся, то возможно, что просто сам спектакль ему не настолько по душе, чтобы повторять и повторять его снова и снова... Вот и устаёт от этого.

Finally back from NY (note to self: don't take the train on Fridays!), where a friend and I saw the show this week. I'd wanted to share my experience earlier, but it's a longer post than I felt like typing on my phone, plus I wanted some time to ponder.
Even after some thought, and sleeping on it, I'm still not actually sure how I feel about the play itself. I didn't dislike it, but I definitely think it's something that will play differently to everyone, depending on what religious baggage (or lack thereof) you bring in to the experience with you, so I will be very interested to read what the actual critics have to say about it next week. I know that I, who had pretty much no religious upbringing and hover somewhere between agnostic and atheist, had a bit different feel of it than the friend who went with me, who was raised in a very Baptist home and is now probably best classified as a deist. We both thought it hit some interesting points, but our reactions to them varied a bit. Which, frankly, is how each of the other characters took John Smith and his claims/experience, so maybe that's the whole point--the understanding of someone's experience isn't shaped so much by what actually happened to them, as our own perceptions of it.
Anyway, setting that mental conundrum aside, I thought the staging was good and the performances great across the board. Tracee Chimo definitely stole the show--she was excellent, and I hope someone snaps her up for a sitcom or SNL or something. You could definitely tell DD's voice was wearing, but I didn't realize he was sick-sick, I assumed it was just the toll of doing a solid 90 minute show seven times a week. I thought he gave a solid performance, when I wasn't distracted by staring at the handsomeness (and the abs! My goodness!).
I was there on a weeknight, and it looked like a pretty full house. I saw people up in the balcony as we were leaving, but I'm not sure if it was full. I only saw a couple empty seats on the side in the orchestra. The audience that night was good--I didn't see the old napper others have seen--though we did have what my friend referred to as the Mad Cackler, who while not laughing at inappropriate times, was ridiculously loud when the rest of the audience just...laughed like normal non-hyenas.
We didn't stick around after the show for autographs or anything, because it was bitterly cold and windy, and we had to meet another friend across town for drinks. Definitely well worth the trip, though, IMHO.

His voice was a little raspy and he looked a little tired, but his energy was there and he gave a performance unlike any I'd seen from him before. I think theater suits him.
He came outside, signed autographs (used my Sharpie, which I'm having bronzed. LOL), posed for photos, joked a bit with us, then ducked into a nearby bar to have a drink with friends ... one of whom is an actor whose face I've seen a lot, but whose name I just cannot remember.

Говорят точно без микрофонов. Только на его последнем монологе он всегда есть. Честно говоря, я понятия не имею, зачем он нужен. Может, чтобы подчеркнуть, что Джон обращается к людям с алтаря, может потому что Дэвид в некоторых моментах монолога очень тихо говорит, а может, чтобы "немного" изменить его голос (чего так первое время пугались хэвэнцы).

I saw the Nov. 7 matinee of The Break of Noon and thought I'd give more detailed spoilers for those who won't be able to see the play. I don't remember all of the dialogue, so things may not be completely accurate, but I'll try to give the gist of each scene. If anyone else who saw the play wants to correct anything or add anything, please do.
As the lights went down at the beginning, red lights on the sides of the stage started flashing and sirens and helicopter sounds were blaring. The sounds faded out as the curtain opened to show John Smith sitting in a chair at center stage with a spotlight on him, looking exactly like the picture that's been posted. As others have said, he has a long monologue here describing the office shooting. It plays as if he's being interviewed by a cop right after the shooting, but we're only hearing his side of the conversation. It was kind of funny because the spotlight must have been shining a little too brightly in his face, so after the first few sentences David said something about the sun being a little bright and hurting his eyes and then the light dimmed a little and he said thank you. It was a smart little ad-lib and the audience chuckled. He did have a pretty strong New York accent in this first scene, but it seemed to get weaker as the play went on. As far as the dialogue, I remember him talking about the shooter coming up to his floor on the "noon elevator" and then laughing at himself and asking what a noon elevator is. He described how everyone else was killed, but he only had a minor injury to his ankle from a bullet bouncing off the floor. Later, he says that he heard a voice telling him to stay where he was and he would be saved. For most of the monologue he's acting shaken-up and confused, but when talking about God's voice he becomes more sure, insisting that the voice was as clear and real as that of the person he's talking to.
The second scene was John with his lawyer, who was either written or directed to be played as the cliched soulless, money grubbing lawyer. It started with the lawyer sitting at his desk looking at a picture of a dead woman that John took with his phone during the shooting. John was pacing a little behind and to the side of him. The lawyer asked John if it was the woman's tit in the photo. John said yes and the lawyer said something like, "Oh my, it's not attached to her body". He seemed amused in a 'this will be great for the media' kind of way. He then goes on to encourage John to sell the photo to a magazine or tabloid for a nice profit. John seemed reluctant and tried to explain that he heard God's voice telling him to spread the message that we should all be good, and he wouldn't want people to think he was just profiting off of a tragedy. The lawyer said he could make a million dollars. That got John's attention, and he started to compromise, saying he'd only keep a small amount of the money and the rest would go to charity or his wife and daughter. But then he started waffling a bit, saying that he might need some money for this or that. This part was funny because you could tell he really wanted to keep as much money as possible. Then the lawyer convinced him that he could spread his message further by going on the talk shows. He listed names like Ellen, Oprah, and Letterman and after a beat John said, "I want to go on Regis." David's timing and delivery was really funny there. At some point in this scene the lawyer pointed out that you could see the shooter in the picture and he looked Mexican. He said that was another angle they can sell about this story - the foreigner attacking, us against them. He named the shooter Juan Valdez. Also, the lawyer got up from his desk a few times during this scene to get a cup of water. He explained to John that his doctor told him to drink eight glasses a day for various reasons and he specifically mentions something like it makes him take a nice big dump once a day. Jelk's delivery was really enthusiastic here and John's reaction of "I didn't need to know that" was also great.

Next, was the scene with John and his ex-wife Ginger. John lead a blind-folded Ginger out to a large rock in what I guess was supposed to be a field or some other natural setting. He took the blind-fold off her and she was surprised to see they were at "their spot". She seemed confused about what they were doing there. John took off his jacket and laid it across the rock so Ginger could sit, and then pulled a plaid blanket out of a picnic basket he brought. He unfolded the blanket on the ground and then started pulling food out of the basket for Ginger. The whole time, Ginger seemed really uncertain as to why John was being so nice. He wanted to talk to her and work things out so they could get back together. Their conversation consisted of him trying to tell her that he wanted to change and be a better person because of the vision he had, but she didn't trust him or believe in his vision. They ended up going back and forth between yelling at each other and trying to speak calmly about the situation. At one point, he called her his wife and she stated very clearly that she was his ex-wife. He then exaggeratedly replied, "Okay, ex-wife" with finger quotes and emphasis on the "ex" as if that really didn't matter. That got a pretty big laugh. Another line that had the audience laughing was when John yelled that he even went to Bed, Bath & F%&#in' Beyond to get the stupid plaid blanket. He told Ginger that the voice he heard told him they should be married and that he had bought the land they were sitting on so they could build a home there. That seemed to really unnerve Ginger. She said she would've been less afraid if she found out he was a rapist or murderer, but this new John who had money and was trying to do nice things for her was too strange. She walked off then, leaving him staring after her. David and Amanda Peet had really good chemistry together. He was very cute when he was being nice to her, but you could see what a jerk his character was when he was yelling at her.
Fourth, was John's appearance on a local talk show. Jenny, the talk show host, and John were sitting in swivel chairs, which they kept turning to face each other while talking. Jenny, like the lawyer, was all the cliches about talk show hosts rolled into one. She did most of the talking and talked quickly, winking and constantly smiling at the audience, obviously loving the camera being on her. I think she asked John if he could prove that he heard God's voice. He, of course, couldn't. She also asked him if he was sure that God was a man because women get touchy about the gender issue or something like that. John answered that he was sure it was a male voice he heard. She kept going on about how she wanted to believe him, but the American people were cynical and would rather see his gory photo than hear his message from God. She was kind of making fun of the fact that his message was as simple as "be good" and questioned why a non-believer like him would be saved when so many good Christian people were killed in the shooting. She cut John off a lot when he tried to answer and reminded him a few times to face the audience and smile. One time when it seemed as if Jenny was going to let him speak, John turned to the audience and tried to smile, and it was really funny because it was such a fake smile, more of a grimace really. There were also a couple times when John looked at Jenny and sort of pointed to the audience like he was asking if he should turn now and look at them. I don't remember what led up to it, but Jenny said something about John having a nice face for an older man. Towards the end of the scene, Jenny was again saying she wanted to believe him, and John got angry because he thought she was mocking him. He started to stand up and get in her face a little. She turned to face him again and more seriously said that she wasn't mocking him. She repeated that she wanted to believe and I don't remember what she said after that, but it was more of the same things she had said earlier. John then pulled his mic off and stalked off the set.
The fifth scene was John and Ginger's cousin Jesse. Jesse was sitting on a park bench that was supposed to be across from a hotel where they used to meet I think. John walked onto the set wearing a knit cap and sunglasses. Jesse jumped a little because she didn't recognize him at first. He explained that the disguise was necessary because people were always taking pictures and following him since he became famous. They sat together on the bench and Jesse said that she believed in his vision. She was in awe of John's experience and knew he really was trying to change. John then asked Jesse if she would try to be a better person along with him. They needed to be honest about the affair they had while he was married. At this point Jesse started to backpedal a bit. She was afraid of what her family would think if they found out about the affair. She also said she wouldn't get anything out of being honest; she didn't get any money like John did. The two started fighting, yelling over each other until John called Jesse a c%&#. She slapped him in the face for that and then started swinging at him, pummeling his chest. John tried to grab her arms and hold her to him to stop her from hitting him. I noticed here that David was being careful not to grab her chest. I saw his hand quickly move out of the way when Amanda moved a certain way while hitting him. I don't know if anyone else saw that, but I thought it was funny because it reminded me of the X Files blooper reels. Anyway, the two of them were in a pretty tight embrace at that point with Jesse still struggling a little. Then suddenly they were kissing. It was a pretty long kiss too. He tried to stop them from going further, begging her to help him tell the truth. All the while his hand is on her ass. This scene also got a laugh from the audience because he's telling her they have to stop and begging her to tell the truth, but he was totally enjoying groping her. She unbuttoned the top couple buttons of his shirt and that's when he realized they were in public and people could see him. He pulled away from her and sat on the bench, putting his sunglasses back on. She seemed disgusted with him at that point and left.

The next scene was with Gigi, the prostitute dressed as a french maid. It opened with John, wearing a button-down shirt and boxers, kneeling at the foot of a bed with his hands folded in prayer on the bed and his head down on top of his hands. There was a Bible on the floor. Gigi walked in with a portable stereo and announced her presence. John looked over at her and quickly put his head back on his hands as if he was praying really hard for the ability to resist her. There was some dialogue about her french maid outfit I think and then she pulled out a dildo that turned into a feather duster when she pushed a button on the bottom. She started teasingly running the feathers up John's back while he was still kneeling. He jumped up and was trying to get away from Gigi, but she pushed him down on the side of the bed. On a side note, David was wearing something white under his boxers. When she pushed him down he was flat on his back on the bed with his feet on the floor, knees bent and legs facing the audience. You could see just a little sliver of an opening up his boxers and although it wasn't much, I guess it was enough that he had to wear something underneath. Back to the scene, Gigi and John scooted up onto the bed fully and were talking about all the different outfits she's had to put on for men. She mentions the naughty maid versus the french maid. When John questions what the difference is, she answers that when she's the naughty maid she wears the dildo. Then, Gigi straddled him and John started to protest a bit. I think he was saying that they really didn't have to do anything. Then, Gigi pulled the sheet up over her head and started bobbing up and down simulating a blow job. John started to moan and when he moaned, "Oh, God" he remembered that God was the reason he was there. He sat up and pulled Gigi off him.
Now on a shallow note, she had unbuttoned his shirt earlier on the bed and when David sat up, the sides of his shirt parted and his abs were very visible. They had that six-pack definition and looked very solid. It was definitely a nice view. Contrary to what I expected, there was never a time where he was wearing nothing but boxers; he always had the shirt on too.
Back to the scene again, John scrambled off the bed and started to put his pants back on while Gigi was still trying to go after him. She grabbed his crotch as he was pulling his pants up. He finally moved away from her to the other side of the bed and she gave up, flopping down onto the bed. She said something like her self-esteem was usually really low and he wasn't helping it any by rejecting her. I think this was when John called Gigi by her real name, which was Jill. She froze at that and asked how he knew her name. He said that he knew her mother, who was killed in the office shooting, and he hired Gigi/Jill when he saw her picture because he recognized her from the pictures her mother kept on her desk at work. He pulled out the picture he took during the shooting and showed her. I think the dead body was actually Jill's mother. John told her that he sometimes had lunch with her mother and her mother used to talk about her. Jill started crying during this conversation, and I have to say Tracee Chimo was really good here - there were tears streaming down her face. In a sweet moment, John pulled every tissue out of a tissue box and put them in her lap. Jill was upset, but at the same time was telling John that her mother treated her horribly. The only thing she wanted John to tell her was whether or not he thought to check if the body in his picture was still alive before snapping the photo. He seemed either ashamed or regretful when he told her that he didn't. That made her angry and she tried to leave, but John stopped her, telling her why he really hired her. He told her about hearing God's voice and that he was testing himself to see if he could resist her because he had hired women in the past and used to watch porn. Jill was angry and didn't believe anything he was saying about hearing God and God's message and tried to leave again, but not before telling him he still had to pay her. That's when he said he would pay her if she prayed with him. He told her to get on her knees with him and started ordering her to tell God her real name and pray. Jill started crying harder when she said her real name and prayed the way John told her. The scene ended with both of them on their knees like that.

The seventh scene was between John and the detective. This scene seemed a little shorter than the others. The two characters were sitting at a table in what was supposed to be an interrogation room. John asked the detective if anybody out there (behind the mirror) was looking in on them. The detective responded with something like why would anyone waste their time looking in here. The detective was holding John's photo and I just remember that there was tension between the two. I think it was because the detective didn't believe John's story about hearing God. John was acting very defensive and said that the detective was getting up in his face. The detective responded that he was very literal and moved his face up close to John's to show him what getting up in his face was really like. He mentioned more than once that he was a very literal person. They argued for a bit about the truth of John's story, but John didn't care if anyone believed him because he knew what he heard and that he had to get his message out somehow. John was about to walk out when the detective asked him a question. He asked why Juan Valdez killed everyone else in the office and let John live. He wondered if the shooter knew John or if there was something that John might have done differently than the others. John seemed surprised by this question, but didn't have an answer. He left the room after that.
Finally, the last scene was John's monologue after becoming an evangelist. The set consisted of a few steps covered in a red carpet with lights on either side. John walked out with a microphone on and a charismatic, preacher-type of persona in place. He addressed his congregation, smiling down at the audience and saying that he recognized some of his brothers and sisters in the first two rows. I think he started with a brief rehashing of his experience and how he was saved. He then climbed the few steps and said that someone recently asked him why he wasn't killed, referring to the detective's question. He admitted that he used to be a bad person and mentioned how he had watched some of the dirtiest pornography, women with animals and things like that. He seemed regretful and disgusted with his old self. He then described the awful things he and his colleagues had done to Juan Valdez. One of them had gone to the bathroom and took his poop and put it in Juan's desk drawer. He described Juan's reaction when he found it - I can't remember if he said he cried or just had a blank stare on his face. Then, when Juan was fired, John was the one that handed him his two weeks notice with a smile on his face. He said Juan never came back after that day until the shooting. Then, he went on to describe the shooting in more detail than he had before. He told about a woman who played dead thinking that the gunmen would pass her by if she did, but she didn't know that there was only one gunman and he knew that he hadn't killed her yet. Juan went over and slit her throat while she was lying on the floor. Then, the shooter went over to John and put his gun down John's throat and pulled the trigger. Nothing happened. He pulled the trigger again and again, even re-loading his clip, but the gun never fired. After that, Juan put the gun in his own mouth and pulled the trigger. That time it worked. The play ended with John floating a few inches off the ground, arms raised over his head. With the spotlight on him, he threw his head back and shouted that he was saved. Then everything went black.

Наш вечный предмет скорбления. Смотря первый отрывок, где он в грязной рубашке, не первый раз приходит мысля, что хорошо было бы упереть эту рубашку в душ, вместе с содержимым, и там заняться стиркой и того и другого.
И почему так мало?! Хочу весь спектакль на видео!
Скажите, что мы его получим, а?

I was lucky enough to be invited to an after-party across the street. Had drinks and thoroughly enjoyable conversation with DD and CC (and Amanda, Tracee, John, and the crew) for about an hour. There was discussion of the play, the prospects of a third film, etc.
Full report as soon as I come down off of cloud nine and come to terms with the fact that this wasn't some surreal fantasy that I conjured up. I keep expecting to wake up at any moment.

Я не поняла. Простого пришедшего на спектакль фаната пригласили на посиделки с ДД и КК и Ко после спектакля? Что-т мне с трудом верится, что эта компания обсуждала бы свои дела и разговоры, пригласив первого попавшегося человека посидеть с ними.
