So I was there today and was lucky enough to be backstage among some of the guests of the talent (later discovered I was sitting across from Baby William, only he was now like a 12 year old boy, also Mrs. Shiban beside him). So technically I did not see the panel play live in front of my face, but on a monitor right at the steps that led on the stage. One perk of this vantage point is seeing all the guys hearing themselves be introduced then making their way up those steps. So all the writers are up there, and then they play the opening title sequence to the show. I was literally 5 feet behind Double D and GA as they played with their flashlights, whispering to each other and smiling and whatever DD said to her had GA laughing. Someone below posted how they would love to be a fly on the wall on a conversation between those two and I have to agree. At that moment I think I had that exact thought. I was also tempted to pull out my phone and take a picture of this moment. But I didn't want to be that obnoxious person, like I was trying to sneak a picture in this short moment of a press-free/fan-clear zone.
Anyway, so the title credits were at the tail end and Gillian knew that was their cue so she turned the flashlight on and walked up those steps and David followed. I could not see the crowd where I was but the sound just ERUPTED with cheers. As an x-phile since the beginning, it was truly like a chill down my back and smile from ear to ear moment. Kind of got me a little emotional.
