Spoilers pt. 4
The seventh scene was between John and the detective. This scene seemed a little shorter than the others. The two characters were sitting at a table in what was supposed to be an interrogation room. John asked the detective if anybody out there (behind the mirror) was looking in on them. The detective responded with something like why would anyone waste their time looking in here. The detective was holding John's photo and I just remember that there was tension between the two. I think it was because the detective didn't believe John's story about hearing God. John was acting very defensive and said that the detective was getting up in his face. The detective responded that he was very literal and moved his face up close to John's to show him what getting up in his face was really like. He mentioned more than once that he was a very literal person. They argued for a bit about the truth of John's story, but John didn't care if anyone believed him because he knew what he heard and that he had to get his message out somehow. John was about to walk out when the detective asked him a question. He asked why Juan Valdez killed everyone else in the office and let John live. He wondered if the shooter knew John or if there was something that John might have done differently than the others. John seemed surprised by this question, but didn't have an answer. He left the room after that.

Finally, the last scene was John's monologue after becoming an evangelist. The set consisted of a few steps covered in a red carpet with lights on either side. John walked out with a microphone on and a charismatic, preacher-type of persona in place. He addressed his congregation, smiling down at the audience and saying that he recognized some of his brothers and sisters in the first two rows. I think he started with a brief rehashing of his experience and how he was saved. He then climbed the few steps and said that someone recently asked him why he wasn't killed, referring to the detective's question. He admitted that he used to be a bad person and mentioned how he had watched some of the dirtiest pornography, women with animals and things like that. He seemed regretful and disgusted with his old self. He then described the awful things he and his colleagues had done to Juan Valdez. One of them had gone to the bathroom and took his poop and put it in Juan's desk drawer. He described Juan's reaction when he found it - I can't remember if he said he cried or just had a blank stare on his face. Then, when Juan was fired, John was the one that handed him his two weeks notice with a smile on his face. He said Juan never came back after that day until the shooting. Then, he went on to describe the shooting in more detail than he had before. He told about a woman who played dead thinking that the gunmen would pass her by if she did, but she didn't know that there was only one gunman and he knew that he hadn't killed her yet. Juan went over and slit her throat while she was lying on the floor. Then, the shooter went over to John and put his gun down John's throat and pulled the trigger. Nothing happened. He pulled the trigger again and again, even re-loading his clip, but the gun never fired. After that, Juan put the gun in his own mouth and pulled the trigger. That time it worked. The play ended with John floating a few inches off the ground, arms raised over his head. With the spotlight on him, he threw his head back and shouted that he was saved. Then everything went black.

Смотря первый отрывок, где он в грязной рубашке, не первый раз приходит мысля, что хорошо было бы упереть эту рубашку в душ, вместе с содержимым, и там заняться стиркой и того и другого.

И почему так мало?! Хочу весь спектакль на видео! Скажите, что мы его получим, а?

CC was there tonight (12/18).

I was lucky enough to be invited to an after-party across the street. Had drinks and thoroughly enjoyable conversation with DD and CC (and Amanda, Tracee, John, and the crew) for about an hour. There was discussion of the play, the prospects of a third film, etc.

Full report as soon as I come down off of cloud nine and come to terms with the fact that this wasn't some surreal fantasy that I conjured up. I keep expecting to wake up at any moment.

Я не поняла. Простого пришедшего на спектакль фаната пригласили на посиделки с ДД и КК и Ко после спектакля? Что-т мне с трудом верится, что эта компания обсуждала бы свои дела и разговоры, пригласив первого попавшегося человека посидеть с ними.

Надо сказать, вздыхаю с облегчением, и думаю, он тоже Браво ему, что решился сделать это, и сделал это очень и очень хорошо, восхищаюсь им и аплодирую А теперь ему желаю хорошенько отдохнуть!
